About
Chicago-based glam marching band for people of marginalized genders. Let's get brassy.
Clamor & Lace Noise Brigade is Chicago’s first street marching band composed solely of musicians and performers of marginalized genders. In Clamor & Lace, musicians, dancers, and artists of all backgrounds and skill levels collaborate to create joyful, raucous, and high-energy performances. The band’s eclectic repertoire embraces composers and performers of marginalized genders –with cover songs by new wave and riot grrrl goddesses, pop divas, and outsider music legends, as well as a collection of strange and wonderful originals. Founded in 2018, Clamor & Lace grew from the HONK! activist brass band movement and the Chicago brass band scene. Since their first performance at a DIY backyard festival, Clamor & Lace has performed all over Chicago, from farmers markets to concert halls, from protests to galas, from library storytimes to celebrations of life. Clamor & Lace has also traveled to the original HONK! festival in Somerville, MA; PRONK! in Providence, RI; HONK!TX in Austin, TX; and numerous other out-of-state events.
